Autumn gives way to winter.
Autumn came in with all it’s splendour. The reds, the oranges and the yellows.
Then along came a glimpse of what is to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rosie had to check it out. She is not to sure.
But Lucky on the other hand has seen it all before.
By the next day it was all gone.
Then today we woke to find ourselves in the grip of Jack Frost and we jumped from our lovely warm bed at 7.15am and headed out for a lovely long winters walk. We got ourselves all wrapped up and headed out to see Jacks handy work.
Lovely dogwood
Nettles in a steely coat.
The frost on a fence.
Silver needles.
Lucky taking it all in her stride.
Rosie has soon got used to the English weather.
Bracken in fancy dress
A frosty woodland walk.
All the falling leaves carpeting the footpath.
A tunnel with a view.
The bull rushes standing guard.
A bit of an old fencepost.
A beech tree catching the sun.
Reflections in the stream.
Two hours later we got back home and had a lovely cup of tea and the dogs slumped down on the sofa and have hardly moved all day.
A bit of good news………
I got another job, it;s only temporary till Christmas but one never knows.
Cya all again soon

Is there anyone there still?
Well hello everyone, tis me. It is such a long time since I have had internet that I have nearly forgotten how to use it. I have loads to tell you's all. We had to make a very hard decision a while back and the outcome of that means we are back in the UK. We enjoyed our lives in Crete but we were finding it more and more difficult to live there with the state of Greece in this ressesion.
So here we are in the UK, living up north again. I am working full time so my free time is much reduced. I have not made anything at all. We have been decorating our new home. You know painting and wallpapering and the like.
Lucky and Rosie have settled in here really well. Lucky loves the grass and the woods and the cooler climate. Rosie is just loving life, she probaly does not remember Crete at all. She will be 1yr old soon.
Well, I will leave you all to digest my news and I hope to get something done soon, maybe knitting or sewing. Who knows, you'll have to come back to see.

Look what I got
We went to the presentation barbecue yesterday for the pool league that my hubby and I have been playing in all winter.
I received a trophy for MOST IMPROVED PLAYER 2011-2012 Here I am with the other players who were awarded trophies. These two men were from the other team and I was the only one from our team to win a trophy.
It will stand in a prominent place in my home.

Welcome to Sunny Crete.
They told me that it only snows in Crete every twenty years I have not been here 5 years and I have seen it twice. The mountains get it every year but this is the first time I have seen these ones with snow. Anyway the sun is out and everything is dripping so it won’t last long.

Bath time
Once upon a time there were 5 little puppies. They were like any other puppies getting into all sorts of mischief. Doing things on the floor that they shouldn’t, you know what I mean. Then having play fights and rolling all over the floor getting covered in all sorts of things. Result 5 yucky, smelly balls of mischief. So the only thing for it was a bath.
So everything was prepared, towels, bowls, wash-cloths and a nice warm bathroom. I had visions of squealing wriggling puppies, sure that I was intent on drowning them!
But you just take a look.
No squealing, no wriggling just well behaved little pups taking it all in their stride and the end result……………………………………………
Five clean fluffy little angels. (ha ha)

This Little Doggy Has a New Home.
Yes he has, but he has to wait a little while till they sort him an escort out. He is going to a new life in Holland and he will be flying there.
You can check out this charity Here.
They are having a very tough time at the present with loads of dogs and cats, puppies and kittens been dumped. People just can’t afford to look after their pets anymore.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that They can find homes for the others too.

Look what I made!!!!!!!!!
Just thought that I would show you two gifts that I made for two of my friends for Christmas.
These are my scrappy version of log cabins. No measuring, just pick up random pieces from my scrap box. I am now making myself a couple, something similar but a bit different. You will see what I mean when I get them finished, but this is what they look like so far. These scraps where destined for the bin, what a waste that would have been.

Catch-up
We had our first meeting of our exclusive sewing group on Thursday past. There were only 3 of us thought. Why? you might ask. Well everyone is off gallivanting, most of them been in England.
Anyway I was sewing up a jumper that has been waiting for more months than I’d care to remember, Jude was cutting out a dress and Sylvia was cutting out fabric wool to knit a scrappy rug. Anyway I suggested that we do a Bom this year, that idea was left open for descussion . Then I suggested that we work on all our UFO’s. I know I have quite a few. So did Jude and Sylvia.
Here is my list:-
- My foxglove jumper.
- A waterfall cardigan.
- A longline cardigan.
- A knitted patchwork jumper.
- A chunky jacket.
- My hexagon quilt.
- My string block quilt.
These are what I can remember off the top of my head.
I don’t have photo’s of the others that I have mentioned but I think that’s enough to be going on with don’t you?
Think I will continue on with the foxglove jumper that I am in the middle of sewing up. So hopefully this will be the first finish of the year. Then it will be one down seven or so to go.
